The story of the Château St-Ambroise all started in 1882 with the construction of the factory complex of the Merchant Mills and Co. factory. Until 1989, the Château Saint-Ambroise was the birthplace of several major company which would play a significant role in Montreal economy. At that time, several thousand of workers were employed here in manufacturing Textile (Dominion Textile) or toy (Coleco)...

Left derelict for almost a decade, the buildings have since been converted into commercial lofts in 1999, and to date, more than 200 companies are located there as tenants.

The vast majority of these companies are working in the field of creativity. Film, advertising, design, entertainment, promotional marketing and development are just a few examples of our tenants activities.

The premises offered at the Chateau range from 500 to 10,000 sq. ft., with the following features: ceilings 14 'to 20' high along the floors, hardwood floors, windows, 9 'high. The view over the canal and mountains are all factors favoring creativity.
